1、水同位素示踪在水文与环境研究中的应用
Water isotopic composition of any water on earth is resulted from
hydrological cycle leading to this water occurrence. By examining temporal
variability of water isotopic composition, and comparing the
difference/similarity between water bodies, one can reveal hydrological
processes and make connection between waters. In this presentation, I will talk
about spatial and temporal patterns of rain isotopic compositions in a
coastal hilly area in South Australia and its influencing factors, and selected
applications of this information in investigating groundwater recharge sources,
and catchment hydrological processes (e.g., vegetation water use). Potential of
using water isotopic composition in urban areas investigating contamination
sources and leakage from drinking water distribution network is also discussed.
2、一个滨海城市的热岛效应及其对城市规划的启示
Climate change and an increasing urban population with
associated demands for space, water, energy and other resources, have increased
pressure on urban environments. This situation is exacerbated by the urban heat
island (UHI) phenomenon, one of the most significant anthropogenically induced
changes in land and atmosphere interactions. In coastal cities with a slope
base setting, effects of sea breeze and cold air drainage superpose on top of
the urban heat island effect. It is difficult to articulate the urbanisation
effect which, however, is important to develop summer heat mitigation
solutions. This study is to address this challenge by investigating temporal
and spatial distribution of air temperature in Adelaide metropolitan area of
South Australia based on data from a monitoring network in 2011-2013. I will
discuss the dominant influences on thermal climate in Adelaide, particularly
focusing on sea breeze cooling effects in summer and heatwave days. The effect
of climate on electricity consumption in warm season is also discussed.
