Happy spring! Today I have a bright and beautiful new collection from 1850 Artisan Polish to share with you. This collection is inspired by Disney and will be first released at The Indie Shop’s “TISneyland” event in Anaheim, California on May 19th, 2018. One of these shades is a TISneyland event exclusive, and the other five shades will be released on 1850’s website on May 26th.
First up is “Under the Sea”, which was originally created as a custom polish for the lead actress in a local production of “The Little Mermaid” in the maker of 1850’s community.
“Under the Sea” is a bright turquoise that leans blue; it is incredibly reminiscent to the sea, and the perfect shade for any aspiring mermaids! This polish also has holo microflakies and a gorgeous turquoise-green shimmer. Here’s a close-up shot.
I reached full opacity with this polish in two coats of color. The formula was super easy to work with. You will want to keep your brush strokes straight to avoid any visible brush lines on the nail.
Here’s one last shot of “Under the Sea” in direct sunlight. The sun definitely brings out the gorgeous holographic microflakies.
Next up is my personal favorite from this collection, “Make it Pink”. This creative polish was inspired by “Sleeping Beauty” and the adorable scene at the end of the movie where Princess Aurora’s dress changes from pink to blue over and over again.
This polish is an electric pink jelly base with an INCREDIBLE blue shimmer. The blue shimmer stands out absolutely beautifully against the pink base. This polish is also full of holo microflakies. Here’s a close-up shot of this beauty.
I thought I would need three coats of color for this shade, but it was opaque in just two coats of color.
Here is “Make it Pink” in direct sunlight. The holographic effect is gorgeous!
“Pixie Holo” is a beautiful spring green inspired by everyone’s favorite fairy, Tinkerbell! The color match to Tinkerbell’s dress is perfect!
Pixie Holo is a bright green with a yellow shimmer and scattered silver holographic glitters– I mean, pixie dust! Here is Pixie Holo close-up.
Light greens like this are often hard to work with, but not this shade. The formula is outstanding and it is opaque in two coats of polish.
Here is Pixie Holo in sunlight, where you can see that magical holo glitter!
Next up is one of two thermals in this collection, “Once Upon a Dream”. This is another shade inspired by “Sleeping Beauty” and the iconic song that will be stuck in your head for the rest of this post!
In its warm state, Once Upon a Dream is a very pale pink. As hard as I tried, due to some 80 degree weather, I couldn’t get a shot of Once Upon a Dream in its full cold state, which is a medium pink.
This polish also has a gold multichrome sparkle and scattered holographic microflakies. It also dries slightly matte, so you will want to use 1850’s fantastic quick dry top coat on top for a glossy finish. I used three coats of polish to make sure the polish would be opaque in its warm state.
Here is Once Upon a Dream mid-transition in direct sunlight, where you can see some of those scattered holographic microflakies!
“Dreaming of Wonderland” is a magical white multichrome inspired by Alice in Wonderland. This shot was taken in direct sunlight.
This shade has a white base and shifts between turquoise, blue, violet, and purple. Also packed inside are holo microflakies and iridescent multichrome flakes. Up close, it almost looks as if it GLOWS! The multichrome radiates off of the white base beautifully.
In this shot using artificial lighting, you can see more of the true multichrome effect this polish gives off. This shade was opaque in two to three coats of color. I used three coats of color for these photos to show off the opacity of the white base.
Lastly is “A Dream is a Wish”, the TISneyland event exclusive inspired by Cinderella’s blue dress.
In its warm state, A Dream is a Wish is a pale blue, almost white shade.
In its cold state, A Dream is a Wish is beautiful Cinderella blue.
This shade also a pink aurora shimmer and scattered holographic microflakes. It was opaque in two coats of color. This polish will also dry slightly matte, so you will want to add a glossy top coat.
