Today I have some swatches for the upcoming Hella Handmade Creations pre-order, including shades from Chirality, Quixotic Polish, JReine, Colors by Llarowe, Lilypad Lacquer, and Ethereal Lacquer!
Part 2 of my HHC swatches are up now! You can check out six more shades coming to the August pre-order right here.
New to Hella Handmade Creations? Every month, HHC offers exclusive polishes from your favorite indie nail polish brands during a week-long pre-sale. The August pre-sale will be open from August 14th at 12:01 AM EST until August 21 at 11:59 PM Hawaiian on Hella Handmade Creations’ website. You can buy as many polishes as you want during the pre-sale. Each brand participating in HHC has picked their own theme to create specially inspired polishes.
First up is “Upgraded” from Chirality Artisan Nail Polish. Chirality’s current theme is “Doctor Who” and this polish has no cap.
Upgraded has a silver base with scattered and linear holographic; silver microglitters; blue to green iridescent micro glitters; and a light blue shimmer.
Here is Upgraded in natural light in direct sunlight. This shade had a fantastic, 2-coater formula that was very easy to work with.
Here’s one more outdoor shot because… look at that holo!!!
The following photo was taken in outdoor, indrect sunlight. Here, you can really see the larger scattered holographic glitters.
JReine’s contribution to this month’s pre-order is “Sweet Snow”, a beautiful flakie-filled thermal. JReine’s current theme is “New Orleans” and this polish has no cap.
This thermal is purple in its warm state and blue in its cold state, and is loaded with crystal shifting flakes and teal shimmer. This polish is opaque in two coats of polish and has a very easy to work with formula; the flakies spread very easily across the nail.
Here is Sweet Snow in its warm state, a deep, vibrant purple.
And here is Sweet Snow in its cold state, a bright medium blue.
“It Rubbed Off from Friction” from Quixotic Polish is inspired by “Parks and Recreation” and has no cap.
This shade is a warm medium grey with a strong pink to gold shifting shimmer and light holographic finish.
Here is It Rubbed Off from Friction in natural light under direct sunlight. This shade applied beautifully in two coats of polish.
Finally, here is a shot of this shade in natural light in the shade where the shimmer really stands out.
Colors by Llarowe created “Locked Out of Heaven”, which was inspired by Bruno Mars.
Locked Out of Heaven has a taupe brown holographic base with red to gold aurora shimmer and ultra fine chameleon flakies.
Here is Locked Out of Heaven in natural lighting under direct sunlight.
Here’s one last shot of this shade in natural lighting in the shade. Here, you can really see some small scattered flakies. Okay, who has the song “Locked Out of Heaven” stuck in their head, now?!
“Little Oysters” from Ethereal Lacquer was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. This polish has no cap.
“Little Oysters” is a soft lavender scattered holographic with strong copper shimmer.
Here is Little Oysters in natural lighting, under direct sunlight. I used three coats of polish for this shade, and the formula was really easy to work with. Oftentimes, lighter shades like this can apply thick and streaky, but I did not have that issue with this beautiful shade!
“Leo” from Lilypad Lacquer is part of their “Magic of the Zodiac” theme. This polish has no cap.
This shade was inspired by the Leo star sign. I am totally obsessed with astrology, so I am loving this shade! This shade is a bright yellow that leans chartreuse with scattered holographic, green/teal/blue multichrome flakies, and bright yellow shimmer.
Here is Leo in natural lighting, under direct sunlight. This shade applied beautifully and was opaque in two coats of polish; the flakies spread very easily across the nail.
The polishes shown in this post were sent to me for free in exchange for swatching and my honest review.
