Ethereal Lacquer February Releases (Harry Potter Shades + Murderino Trio)

Today I have a huge post full of new beauties coming from Ethereal Lacquer! Their upcoming pre-order from Friday February 22 at 11 AM through Monday February 25 at 11:55 PM will include four Hogwarts Houses polishes, five Patronus-inspired polishes, and the Murderino trio. Keep reading to see swatches of these amazing new colors!

First up are four new shades inspired by Hogwarts Houses from Harry Potter.

I’ll begin with the best Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw! This shade has a darkened indigo jelly base with red, copper, gold, and green iridescent flakies. My swatches show this shade in two coats of color.

“Slytherin” is a dark emerald green jelly packed with green to blue and violet shifting flakies. This shade was opaque in two coats of polish for me.

“Hufflepuff” is a bright sunny yellow with fiery red shimmer. My swatches show this polish in two coats of polish, but since it is on the sheer side, Ethereal Lacquer will be including a matching undie polish to build up the opacity.

“Gryffindor” is a brazen red jelly full of fiery red-green-yellow iridescent flakies. This shade was opaque in two coats of polish for me.

Next up are the five Patronus Shades, all of which make fantastic toppers.

“Phoenix” has a pale icy base and is packed with a rainbow of iridescent color shifting flakies. My swatches show Phoenix in one coat over black as well as two coats of Phoenix on its own on my ring finger.

“Unicorn” is a pink tinter topper with aqua to green to violet shifting flakies and red shimmer. My swatches show Unicorn in one coat over black as well as two coats of Unicorn on its own on my ring finger.

“Thestral” is a sheer violet jelly with red to green shimmer and large holographic glitters. My swatches show Thestral in one coat over black as well as two coats of Thestral on its own on my ring finger.

“Always” is a pale aqua jelly with glowing red to green shimmer. My swatches show this shade in three coats of polish, but this polish will come with a matching creme undie for even more opacity.

“The Dark Mark” is a sheer charcoal jelly with red to green to gold shifting shimmer. This shade makes a beautiful topper but will also come with a matching creme undie. My swatches show The Dark Mark in one coat over black as well as two coats of The Dark Mark on its own on my ring finger.

The Murderino Trio was inspired by the podcast “My Favorite Murder” and includes three final polishes.

“You’re in a Cult” is a pale smoky blue with strong copper shimmer. My swatches show this shade in two coats of polish.

“Stay Out of the Forest” is a pine green jelly with copper red iridescent flakes. This shade reaches opacity in 2-3 coats of polish.

“Wait, It Gets Worse” has a blackened holographic base with a bright violet shimmer. My swatches show this shade in two coats of polish.

The polishes shown in this post were sent to me for free in exchange for swatching and my honest review. Thank you so much for reading!
